Dan A McKinney

Dan A. McKinney, 76, of 11th Street, Sunbury passed away on Tuesday, February 24, in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Dan was a lifelong resident of Sunbury. He graduated from Shikellamy High School in 1968 and Bloomsburg University in 1972. 

Dan taught English and journalism at Line Mountain High School for 32 years where he served as Key Club and newspaper advisor for many years.

He was a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association and the National Education Association. He was
also a member of the Alumni Association of Bloomsburg University

Dan was an avid fan of all Shikellamy sports teams as well as Penn State football. He enjoyed attending area musicals as well
as gardening.

He was preceded in death by his father Dan A. McKinney JR. and his mother Madge McKinney (Shuler) as well as his maternal
and paternal grandparents.

Dan is survived by his brother Larry McKinney of Selinsgrove brother Gene Stroh of Sunbury, sister Fae Brown of Sunbury,
sister Roxanne Bailey of Dallas, PA as well as several nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, March 4, from 10am-11am at the Zweier Funeral Home, 157 Chestnut Street, Sunbury where the funeral service will follow at 11:00am. 

Burial will be private, in Pomfret Manor Cemetery in Sunbury.
